Ayoo is a small village high Vidriales Valley. It is very close to the mountains where they are grown Almucera sources Creek, which runs through the valley. The novelty of the Via Crucis of Ayoo is that as you read or sing the entries for each station, the actors, who are in a high place, are staging the moment, and under the focus of light, so that the scenes are clearly contemplated.
For his part, accompanying people, but also makes the road to Calvary between silence and admiration. We say that the act was carried out with seriousness and respect and no shortage of personal experiences that we have seen in some of the comments heard, motivated by the various scenes: Jesus falls the Cross, Veronica, the help of Cyrene The black women that come crying to meet, etc.. and especially when being nailed to the Cross hammer, whose sound could be heard through the dark night.

In many villages in the Valles de Benavente, at Lent and much more during the Easter holidays, usually walking, praying and chanting accompanied with the fourteen Stations of the Cross in churches or chapels. But in some places, like Ayoo, so have always done, at least one day, for the town's streets, judging by the existing wooden crosses on them, one that they call Veronica Cruz, it corresponds to the moment of Calvary. This is a cross of quality wood, and is in the same place, on the outskirts of the village for quite some time.
